“The production is driven by my personal interest in the history and culture of our region and the presentation of it through souvenirs to numerous tourists and their friends in their home countries,” said Željko Ćosić, the owner of the craft.

“We produce replicas of old Croatian and world maps by the method of oleography, that is, printing on parchment paper, which is coated with wax as they used to do to protect the cards from moisture. One of the products are pictures of cheerful and colourful Croatian cities through the blinds, like the ornamentation of our cities, a view from the street through the blinds into playful pictures of different cities. We also produce Angels of Feelings, colourful Angels where every Angel represents a certain feeling and symbolism of the same feeling (so the Angel of Courage rides his first bike, the Friendship Angel has the best man’s friend – the dog, the Love Angel holds a balloon in the shape of a heart, the Angel of Wisdom – book, etc. Among other things, we also produce replicas of sacred paintings, on wood, of different sizes, treated to look like they were from some time past”, he explains.

At the beginning, the Lighthouse was engaged in the production and sale of ships models in its own retail stores, they also organized two exhibitions. One at the Hotel Dubrovnik and another large exhibition at the Zagreb Fair within the Boat Show where they exhibited some thirty models. However, due to changes in the market and the way they do business, they gave up designing ships.

As they have opted solely for production, their products can be found in gift shops throughout Croatia and through the website of the related company Butiga d.o.o. that deals with distribution, as well as Facebook pages of old maps and the Angels of Feelings.
