Jewellery made from heavenly materials

Autor ZagrebCrafts / Tagovi

Unique, stunning and comfortable to wear. This is the kind of jewellery made by comb producer Antun Penazić.

Antun came up with the idea of making jewellery in the 1950s. When making combs, there were plenty of ox horn leftovers. He saw a man using these leftovers to make umbrella handles so he decided to give it a try at making jewellery. He showed the first necklace he made to the then owner of the comb production shop and his wife. They were mind-blown and encouraged Antun to spend the next couple of years making jewellery in addition to combs. But he took a different life path. He took up comb production once again ten years ago after he retired.

He uses ox horns and white bone to make his jewellery with some models having additional decorations such as seashell parts. His offer also includes necklaces, bracelets, rings, pins and pendulums. His handcraft has captured the attention of women of all ages. But given that Antun also makes men’s ring, men haven’t been able to resist as well. His products are characterised by quality material, beautiful natural colours and the fact that they’re comfortable to wear. It’s also believed that they have a beneficial effect. The jewellery can be bought at craft fairs where Antun displays his products. It’s bought as souvenirs by Croatians and tourists alike. Is especially sought after by Croats who live abroad because they want a beautiful memory they can wear and a unique Croatian product.
