President of the Organising Committee, Sanja Ercegović Ražić, points out the aim of this year’s conference.

“A concept solution would be to link completely the sectors of leather, footware and also textiles in the form of clothing and manufacturing industry. From small designer brands to big businessmen. The main importance and inspiration comes from a synergy between our home institution and our businessmen, and we believe it will continue on as such. There are various forms of collaboration and businessmen turnout is always good. Everyone’s goal is the economic growth of the Republic of Croatia and strengthening the competitiveness on the European market”, says Mrs Ercegović Ražić for Zagreb Crafts.

One of the speakers of the conference was the president of Zagreb Chamber of Trades and Crafts, Mr Mirza Šabić, who presented the Zagreb Crafts project. He took the opportunity to thank the City of Zagreb and the media company 24sata that took the whole thing to a higher level. This on-line platform for artisans has accomplished significant results in a short amount of time.

“The aim of the project is to open up a niche for our small artisans, whose businesses are mainly family-owned. Here we have a presentation of the craft, but also prerequisites for a web shop, which is a unique opportunity for many. They get a bilingual presentation, high-quality photographs and lively descriptions”, Mr Šabić explains, adding that the strength is in the synergy that the artisans have amongst themselves, which makes them even more interesting to potential buyers.

Synergy is precisely the notion that prevails through the conference, but also the Zagreb Crafts project. All the participants contribute in their own way to the development, competence and competitiveness of the entire sector.
