Tailor’s shop Jura

Tailor’s shop Jura has been successfully running in wider downtown Zagreb for two generations or since 1973 to be more precise. Tomislav Kuna is now in charge of the shop he took over from his father Juraj Kuna.
About

They sew custom-made clothes, but there are a few ready-made clothing items in their shop. They specialise in men’s suits, but they also make men’s and women’s coats, tailcoats, vests and jackets.

Aside from sewing, they also make repairs and they are among the very few shops in Zagreb that make button holes by hand. Given their forty years of tradition, there’s no shortage of steady customers and young businessmen are increasingly buying custom-made suits.

As Tomislav Kuna explains: “The dress codes have changes considerably so most men don’t even own suits. They go to work wearing jeans and a shirt, which used to be unheard of”. Men were usually the one who did the sewing in the Kuna family so Tomislav learned how to sew from his father since he was a child. He emphasised that they’re the happiest when they manage to turn a customer’s idea into reality. His future plans include getting new machines and taking on more employees.
