He’s certified to do repairs of brands such as Cartier, Hamilton, Certina, Edox and Seiko, but he mostly works with Japanese watches and old tall-case clocks. Given that his father was a watchmaker as well, Tomislav Volarić had been learning the secrets of the trade since elementary school.
He performs all kinds of repairs and servicing using all possible parts for Swiss and German clocks. He proudly points out his well-established cooperation with the few remaining watchmakers in Zagreb in order to keep this old trade from fading into oblivion.

“Being a watchmaker is not just a job. It’s an art and you need to be precise and concentrated to do it”, Tomislav Volarić says and add that he has adjusted to the modern marked by servicing Polar smart watches.
These are sports watches that measure your heartbeat and are designed for all kinds of physical activity. As an authorised repairer of Polar watches, he also has a couple of models to sell in his shop.
Japanese watches are his specialty and he’s famous for them so his colleagues send clients to him. Every watch is dismantled to the last part. Then he fixes the delicate watch mechanism by hand and you have to be calm and focused to do that.
