First US order placed through Zagreb Crafts – Cerovečki umbrellas

An enormous success for our craftsmen: First US order placed through Zagreb Crafts

While creating Zagreb Crafts as a central digital platform for Zagreb’s craftsmen, we wanted to create a catalogue of unique handmade products made by all of the included craftsmen. We visited every single craftsman and got acquainted with their one-of-a-kind products, took photos of the selected few and created the Zagreb Crafts catalogue as an online store where domestic and foreign visitors alike can find something that caters to their taste.

You can search the catalogue according to categories that encompass cardboarders, printing, tailors, furriers, goldsmiths, watchmakers and glaziers. If you still have doubts that the catalogue contains quite a few interesting items, we suggest you browse the Metalworkers category and be amazed by Arteferrum furniture. If you’re a fan of jewellery and you don’t mind paying a bit more to get a unique piece of top-notch jewellery, then we recommend you go through the Bijou geometry collection, Bashota pendulums with Zagreb motifs or one-of-a-kind silver pieces by Krunoslav Krznarić.

Cerovečki umbrellas from Šestine, that are a true standout among the wide range of interesting products made by Zagreb’s craftsmen, have just received their first order through Zagreb Crafts. In July Thomislav Cerovečki was taken aback by a direct message through the Zagreb Crafts online form containing a zealous email sent by Diana Fletcher from the United States. “We were pleasantly surprised by Ms Fletcher’s email in which she wrote that, given her Croatian descent, she would be honoured to have in her possession a Šestine umbrella”, Thomislav Cerovečki tells us and adds that she has ordered three umbrellas which are on their way to the US where they will represent the heritage of Zagreb’s craftsmen.

The Šestine umbrella, the most famous products rolled out by Cerovečki craft, has already become a symbol of Zagreb. Quality wire and material as well as the fact that they’re handmade are a great advantage. They’ve have their steady customers for years now, but they also get new clients who’ve had about enough of buying a new umbrella every time strong wind sweeps through the city. This particular umbrella dates back to mid-18th century and has been listed as protected non-tangible cultural good of the Republic of Croatia.

All the umbrellas are handmade using polyester, satin, cotton-polyester and pure cotton, firm handles made from chestnut and bamboo as well as impregnated thread and corrosion-resistant metal wires. You can visit Zagreb Crafts catalogue to check out other products of Tomislav Cerovečki and other Zagreb craftsmen and order a unique and fantastic souvenir.
